Draw No Bet Explained: Get Your Stake Back If the Match Is Drawn
By AfriPredictions · · 2 min read
Draw no bet, often shown as DNB, is a simple way to back a team to win while protecting yourself against a draw.
How draw no bet settles
| Result | DNB on the home team |
|---|---|
| Home team wins | Wins, paid at the DNB odds |
| Draw | Stake returned |
| Away team wins | Loses |
The market is settled on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Check your bookmaker's rules, because a few settle some cup matches differently.
DNB compared with 1X2 and double chance
- 1X2 home win: the highest odds of the three, but a draw loses.
- Draw no bet: lower odds, and a draw gives your stake back.
- Double chance 1X: the lowest odds, and a draw counts as a win.
So DNB sits in the middle. You give up some of the price of a straight win in exchange for not losing on a draw.
When DNB makes sense
- Slight favourites. A team you expect to edge the match, where a draw is a real possibility.
- Away teams in good form. Backing an in-form visitor without losing everything if the hosts hold on for a point.
- Teams that draw often. Some sides are hard to beat but also struggle to win, and DNB suits them.
Using our predictions for DNB
Our match pages show home, draw and away probabilities for each game. When one team's win probability is clearly ahead of the other's but the draw probability is also high, that is the kind of match where draw no bet can be a sensible alternative to a straight win. Start with our 1X2 predictions.
